CHELSEA VS CRYSTAL PALACE

When Crystal Palace requests another important Premier League encounter, GRAHAM POTTER must be thinking he is cursed at Chelsea as he tries to come up with a strategy to halt their troubling slump. The Blues lost 2-1 against Fulham on Thursday night, their fourth straight game without a victory, and it was difficult not to feel bad for their struggling manager as luck once again failed him. Joao Felix was acquired by Potter on loan from Atletico Madrid in what appeared to be a cunning move, but the striker was sent off on his debut at Craven Cottage soon after Chelsea had rightfully tied the score at 1-1. Fulham won at least one half, and my wager on that outcome paid up.Potter's thin defense was once more compromised. The Blues failed to deliver in both boxes despite playing some great midfield play, something they need to address right now. With the Eagles losing four of their previous five games across all competitions, Crystal Palace's performance has also been concerning. They must break out of that rut in this London derby, especially considering the upcoming difficult stretch of games. Last year, Patrick Vieira's team pleased me, but this year, they haven't reached the same heights, with consistency being their major issue. Last weekend, they lost to Southampton at home in the FA Cup semifinals, and if this recent slump continues, they may find themselves only a few points above the relegation zone.
